Sometimes the weirdest stuff comes up that makes you remember what is really important. Usually all of us, doctor, nurse, phlebotomist, EMT, intern, administrator or crazy woman that drives the autovac, are too busy working to remember that we are all people.
Sometimes certain people (often doctors) just bark orders and you feel taken for granted. And sometimes, like today, you see those same order-barking people having a low moment and despite what you think 99% of the time, your heart goes out to them.
Yeah they might not always appreciate you and sometimes they kind of stomp on your feelings, but when you have the ability to help someone who’s down, you help.
Every once in a while I think to myself, it really doesn’t matter whether you run the place or mop the floor, if you work in an emergency room, you are part of a team. That makes me feel good.
